Virginia Beach Higher Education Center
Virginia Beach, Virginia
LandMark Design Group performed the preliminary layout, wetland
assessment and site work design for this approximately 37-acre site
adjacent to the Virginia Beach Campus of Tidewater Community College.
Site work involved paving new internal roads tying to the existing
community college road systems and parking areas for the new facility.
Landscape, utility and storm drainage designs were prepared with
cost estimates. A service drive was designed for the rear of the
building. The stormwater system will collect all the runoff from
the site and convey through new storm sewers to a regional stormwater
management facility. The sanitary system is designed as gravity
sewers connected to an existing system in Transfer Road. The domestic
water will be provided by extending a municipal water main on Princess
Anne Road.
Preliminary design of a city street to access the site was also
completed. In conjunction with the construction of the Verizon Wireless
Virginia Beach Amphitheater, LandMark Design Group performed the
design of Concert Drive accessing the amphitheater property. Concert
Drive will be extended east across Princess Anne Road to access
the Higher Education Center. This will be a new tie from Princess
Anne Road to Rosemont Road. A new ring road will provide secondary
entrance from the community college.
